A few years ago years ago I decided I wanted to be an actor. What I found at Acting and Being was I wanted so much more than to just "act". By working with Gaynor Breedon, I found my artistic voice; and being true to it and myself is the endeavor which opened up my life in more ways than I could have envisioned. I can imagine no-one better than Gaynor to coach and guide you through the challenging process of being an actor and being human. Gaynor works with the love, compassion, and blinding clarity that only true master teachers possess.

Gaynor works with me to bring the true face of my inner being out; I have learned to be in the moment and stay there. One of the gifts that Gaynor brings to an actor is working with their fears about acting. Sometimes I do not want to let go and be that character and Gaynor gets me to let go and trust the work. My work becomes authentic and different each time. Trusting Gaynor brought me to the place in which I continue to grow to new levels and heights.

From the moment I stepped into the studio I felt a sense of being at home...being seen for who I was. Gaynor supported me through my journey of remembering my Self. Gaynor doesn't “teach” you to act but nurtures you to be in that authentic place of center and from that place you are able to become a character. Acting and Being is not for the faint of heart but for those who have the courage to stand in their shoes and be seen. Thank you to Gaynor for seeing me.

When I first began researching Acting classes, I had absolutely no clue what to expect. I emailed Acting and Being expecting to get an email back within the week and literally within 5 minutes, I found myself on the phone, in the middle of this intense conversation with Gaynor, about my goals as an Actor! What was immediately obvious was the overwhelming passion and love this woman possesses. I learn as much from talking with her as I do from the actual acting work and coaching she offers….and the funny thing is, all of it matters. She is always teaching and I am always learning from her… even when I don’t even know it.

I first started with Gaynor’s class because I wanted possibly to find a way into the world of acting and mostly because I wanted to explore and open deeper and more authentic expressions of myself. This class has been great for that, and I’m very grateful for her guidance and insights. Besides my acting skills, my overall life has improved in some very definitive ways. Gaynor has the knack of being able to “see” an actor in their presentation and then guide them to a place of expression that is as full and rich as a role calls for. I’ve watched her do this again and again with people at all levels, and the feeling in the room when an Actor finds that place is really palpable.

Working with Gaynor opened me up to the world of acting and, in so doing, to discovering who I am. Acting and Being has created my foundation for the journey of my career. Gaynor gave me the tools that I needed not only to get work as an actor but also enabled me to trust that the journey along the way is equally, and perhaps even more, the true reward.

What I have learned from Gaynor, and Acting and Being, is how to be real, how to be true to the art, how to become the role rather than "act" it. A fortunate plus of working with Gaynor is that I've learned to be authentic, and in the moment, in daily life as well. I don't think you'll find that in any other acting class.

I truly enjoy Acting and Being and working with Gaynor Breedon. I've attended larger classes before and always felt like an outsider. Acting and Being gives me the personal attention I needed. Watching the other actors and the direction being given by Gaynor is very informative. If you are looking for a small but professional environment to work on your craft, I would definitely recommend Acting and Being.
